Burnell Christmas Eve

Tuesday, December 29, 2009

On Christmas Eve, Bevan, Parker, and I stayed home for the first part of the evening to do our stockings. I wanted to start a tradition for our little family, so I had us open the stockings. I did this because I had bought us all Christmas pajamas- and didn't want to wrap them, so I stuffed them in our stockings. :) When Parker gets a little older, I'm sure we'll go back to opening our stockings on Christmas Day- but I figured she's only 6 months old, and doesn't know the difference yet.

Parker with her Christmas PJs and new Baby Einstein "Christmas from Around the World" DVD and CD. I was at a loss for what to put in a 6 month old's stocking!

Bevan got the ORIGINAL first season of the GI JOE cartoon on DVD. You know, the cartoon from like the 1980's? Needless to say, he was thrilled. I've been hearing "Yo' JOE!" a lot lately...

I love this picture. I realize it's not flattering for neither my husband or my daughter- but this picture completely symbolizes the love and tight bond they have for one another. She completely lights up when he enters the room, and he will scoop her up and play with her for hours on end.

Up next is our Christmas Eve at the Anderson house, and then Christmas Day...

Do other moms...

stay up much later than you should just because your child is finally in bed, and you finally get some alone time?

I've been doing this a lot lately, and losing a little bit of sleep- but I really like the me time.

Addy

Sunday, December 13, 2009

My neice Addison moved back from Hawaii a couple months ago. Last week, we finally got to see her, and baby Parker met her cousin for only the second time. Addison had a lot of fun playing with Parker's baby toys, and Parker had a lot of fun watching Addy run around( and I mean RUN AROUND. That girl has more energy than anyone I've ever met.)

Parkers first christmas tree.

This weekend we decided to drag out the Christmas decor.
We have a 9ft and this little 3 ft tree- and I was being lazy and decided to only put up the 3 ft. Shes still too young to really know what it is- so...once she has a better understanding of what Christmas is- we'll go all out with the big tree. I thought she'd be extremely fascinated with the lights- but so far, she's not that impressed. Apparently, she's seen better.

Speaking of Christmas...I opened one of Parker's "big" presents for her today. Keeping with the theme of "she doesn't know what Christmas is" led me to open it. Who am I kidding? I was just too excited and HAD to open it.
Its a little kitchen set for a 6-36 month old baby.

Look how scrumptious those thunder thighs are...

This toy counts, does the ABC's, has a switch which tells her when the light is on/off, sings songs, has a shape sorter, has a little stove, which sizzles when she "cooks". It also does too many things to keep naming...it is afterall, a little baby's toy. :) Why am I so excited?

My favorite picture...she was spitting at me. This is her new desired form of communication.

Merry Christmas everyone!!
