Going Private

Wednesday, April 23, 2008

Ok...Along with many other people in the blog world, I am also thinking about going private. This means that all you friend bloggers, non-bloggers, and "lurkers" will need to give me your e-mail address as a comment so I can add it to the list of people who are allowed to look at our blog. I decided to do this because:

A.Bevan is becoming a cop soon, and for his protection, I think its best that the whole world doesn't know our bidness....

B. Someday, we might have kids...and there's nothing creepier than people who like to spy on kids...

So if I know, or don't...but for some odd reason you like to read about us and our dogs, send me your e-mail address. If you don't feel comfortable posting your e-mail address on here...just send it to me personally.
xtakemeawayx@hotmail.com

Thanks!

P.S- My blog will be going private starting May 4th, since I know a lot of my family members don't check this on a regular basis- it will give you time.

The Big 2-6

Sunday, April 13, 2008

On April 20th- my sweet hubby will be turning the big 2-6!! Since this coming week is going to be hectic with both our birthdays, tests, new job potentials, etc...I decided I had better do this now, because he deserves it.

26 Reasons Why I love my husband...

1.I love how insanely funny he is. There is not one day that goes by where he doesn't make me laugh.

2. I love how incredibly brilliant he is. I'm pretty sure his IQ is on the genius level.

3.I love that of all the things I find annoying about myself- he doesn't. There are times when I think..."If I was him, I would have TOTALLY punched me in the mouth by now."

4.I love that he doesn't care that I am a HORRIBLE house keeper. He never bitches or complains about it.

5. I love that he is very dedicated to everything he does- no matter how big or small.

6. I love that he works really hard to take care of us, even if it means working 7 days a week.

7. I love that he calls our dogs "the babies."

8.I love how much he loves his family.

9. I love how close he is with his siblings. He doesn't like being away from ANY of them.

10. I love how musical he is. He can play the guitar REALLY well, drums, bass, and sing.

11. I love that he speaks his mind, regardless of the consequences.

12. I love that he eats ALL of my cooking- even if it tastes like crap. He will choke it down just to spare my feelings.

13. I love that he doesn't tell me what I want to hear. He will tell me the truth, which I respect so much.

14. I love how trustworthy he is.

15. I love that he has patience for me and all my crazy antics. Although he says my family pays him a heavy stipend to put up with me...

16. I love that he is my best friend. Above all, we are friends first- and I think that is why our marriage is so successful, and loving.

17. I love how supportive he is. My life path has changed a lot in the past few years, and no matter what- he is always encouraging me to follow my dreams.

18. I love how he refers to me as "mom" when he's talking to the dogs.

19. I love how he many hobbies he has. He really inspired me to find hobbies of my own.

20. I love how much he loves his friends. He would do anything for any one of them.

21. I love that no matter how uncomfortable I am with my body image, he doesn't see me any different, and is very vocal about it.

22. I love that he lets me rant, and rave, and bitch and moan- and will just sit there quietly, and listen.

23. I love that he understands my sense of humor, even if sometimes he gives me a "pity laugh"

24. I love how much he loves my family. He even gets just as excited as I do when we travel to Oklahoma- just because he can't wait to see my family.

25.I love how much he loves me. He works really hard to make it apparent every day- no matter who is around, or what is going on.

26. Most of all, I love that he is MY husband.

Our Second Year Anniversary!!

Saturday, April 5, 2008

Ok, so our two year anniversary was almost a month ago ( 03-11-08), and I am just now getting around to posting about it! Sorry, life has been kind of crazy lately.
So here is how our anniversary was.
I woke up to find this note on the door:

hahaha- people who know Bevan and I will think this is funny. People who don't...might be a little weary.
Beeznatch is one of my MANY nicknames- and I can't remember the origin of this one...

Since our anniversary was on a Tuesday, I had planned a special trip down to SLC for Friday and Saturday. I got a hotel room right in the heart of downtown SLC that came with a jacuzzi!

It was really deep, and really cool once you put bubbles in it.
The room also came with a "Romance Basket" which came with two wine glasses, sparkling cider, bubble bath, and chocolates.

After we got checked into our hotel room, we decided we wanted to get something to eat. I had heard from several people we needed to try this place called Rodizio Grill. If you're ever in SLC, I HIGHLY recommend going there. It's a Brazilian Steakhouse, and the servers walk around with at least 8-10 different types of meat on skewers. It was SO good. It is pretty spendy, but well worth it. Bevan tried some of the weird stuff like rattlesnake sausage- but I didn't. Although I did try the Wild Bore ribs- which were pretty dang good. After that we got some Mango Cheesecake which was probably the best cheesecake I had EVER had. The whole eating experience cost us around $70 for just the TWO of us- but I would so do it again.
After eating, we went back to the hotel, watched a movie, and called it a night.

On Saturday- I had planned for us to go to the Hogle Zoo. Bevan and I are both animal enthusiasts, and have NO SHAME about being avid zoo lovers. It was pretty chilly, but we went pretty early- so it was like having the whole place to ourselves.

The cool thing about this alligator is that its called a White Alligator. It's not actually Albino- but a VERY rare breed. There are only ten in the entire WORLD-and we were lucky enough to see it. I guess it's only going to be at the Hogle Zoo through the summer.

After the zoo, we finished our day at:

I got some shoes, and Bevan got some paint ball stuff.
Sadly after that, we had to head back to IF. It was a VERY short trip- but it was the perfect 24 hours to spend together for our anniversary.
I LOVE YOU BEVAN- and can't wait for the next 50 anniversaries.

Update

Thursday, April 3, 2008

I decided to create a different blogspot for my crafts. I am going to attempt selling them online, and at local craft fairs. This is something I have been contemplating for a while, so I finally decided to go through with it.
It's going to be a slow process since school is very demanding of my time- but I will try to work on it as much as possible. I will probably also be showcasing some of my mother in law's stuff- since she is also into the same thing.
So here it is: Messy Bess Crafts

Clarification

So I have come to find out that there are a few people who think this "book" I'm writing is based on my life and my family. I just wanted to set the record straight.

NO this is not based on my personal life.
NO the characters are not a reflection of me, my dad, my brother, or any of my family.
YES I got the idea for this based on personal fears and life experience.

I have worked really hard to build the characters so they are very distant from my real life. The only thing that ties me, or my family with my book is the topic of adultery. But that is such a broad thing that it is no way a reflection of my life.
For example: the dad in the story is a very business minded, strong willed, controlling man. My dad is not like that in any way. My dad is probably the best father a girl could ask for. He sacrificed a lot for us, and he is extremely giving- and would do anything for us.

As much as I've talked about how this story is not based on my life, it's a natural tendency for someone to write about what they know, and seen, and experienced. So obviously my writing is going to reflect MY personality- just not my life.
