I have way too many ideas.

Wednesday, January 30, 2008

On the 40 minute drive home from school today, I had a thought.

I'm going to write a book.
Well, Im a little uncomforable calling it a "book", but I am going to write a story.
Writing is something I have always excelled at (although the blog is not a prime example) and I really want to get back to it.
I've even thought of a really cool pen name, but I've only told ONE person what it will be. I think its better to keep it under wraps.
I'll start the story tonight, I've already come up with a few ideas.

p.s- I can't stop listening to The Black Album by Metallica. What is wrong with me?
p.p.s- Im also going to kill Doomsday. He riped a giant hole in my beatup old couch.

Project complete.

Here is the other V-day project I did today.

Valentines Day spirit

Today I got an e-mail from one of my professors saying due to severe weather in Idaho Falls, her plane was grounded in Denver and our class was CANCELLED!! Woohoo.
So I decided to use the time to do this project I had thought of, and I actually finished it!! I actually saw something similar in Roberts, but I knew I could make one cheaper than the $17 Roberts was charging. So here it is.
I'm working on another one, and I like the colors better, but I will post it as soon as it is complete.

Mission:weight loss

Thursday, January 24, 2008

Let me start by saying: I love being married.

Now that I've said that, people who have been married or are currently married, they know that usually either one person, or both people involved in this marriage get fat.

I'm one of these people!...and it pisses me off.

So I'm on a mission to lose weight. Ideally I want to lose 30 lbs, but that would put me smaller than I was in Highschool, so it's probably not reasonable.
So I'm going to shoot for 20 pounds, and I figured for this to work, and be effective, I'll need some support or some sort of outlet to document it. I know thats weird...but if I don't have something right there in my face saying, JESSICA: You're GETTING FAT!!- I'll never do anything about it. I'm going to set goals for myself each week, maybe each day...it depends on how busy I am with school, or how busy I am being lazy ;)

Mission for tomorrow: Buy gym membership.

Bare with me.

Ok, so as you can see, I made some changes to the blog.
I'll be putting my links back up shortly, I'm just too lazy to do it now.

A couple nights ago Bevan said two things to me that I will never forget.

We were sitting in the living room, eating dinner, and watching Friends. It was pretty much a standard, typical night for us. Bevan was telling me about his day, and the things they did at school that day, and then at the very end- he said " You know what Jessica, I just love the ever living S**t out of you."
I was a little taken back by it, and told him I loved him too. But then he proceeded to tell me that in school all they talk about is how law enforcement officers have a very high divorce rate, and that the students who are married shouldn't expect to be married forever. And then he said the second thing I'll never forgot.
"I told everyone in my school that we'll never be one of those couples. You and I will last forever, and I know that in my heart."

It was just one of those moments where I had never seen him be soo forthcoming, and open. It was something I had always known, or thought about, but it meant so much more coming from him.

One week down, 15 to go.

Thursday, January 17, 2008

So, I successfully made it through the first week of school unharmed! Actually, it was pretty uneventful.
On Monday, I had to work 6-2, (which really sucks by the way) and wasn't looking forward to going to my first class of the semester, Accounting. The class was supposed to start at 6 pm, and after talking to my friend Henry about Nip/Tuck and Lost, I looked up at the clock, and realized it was 6:30.

Our teacher was a no show.

So needless to say, my "first" day back to school was nice.

Out of all the classes I had this week, my favorite has to be Health Law and Bioethics. Its very interesting, except for the fact that my professor will not stop talking about herself. One part of the class is basically about all the Federal, state, local, and employer laws we will have to deal with. But the more important part of the class is Bioethics. Bioethics is basically all the hot button Healthcare issues you can think of, and how an administrator can handle those topics ethically. I tend to be very opinionated, and passionate about certain topics-so I think my classmates are in for a very long semester.

For example, one of the topics we covered today was the health care provided for prisoners. We learned about a law in California ( the most liberal, idiotic state to ever exist) that allows DEATH ROW prisoners to receive transplants. So more specifically, there was an inmate who received a HEART transplant, and then was put to death a couple weeks later..

I guess in California human hearts grown on trees, and can be discarded at will.

Anyways, my first week back was actually pretty good, and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the semester.

Cleaning? NO. Crafts? YES.

Monday, January 7, 2008

I spent most of my vacation from school doing what I love best, crafts! My house is a dang disaster, but I don't care. Here is what I've done so far:

**For christmas, I got a sewing machine. I have only been able to do two projects so far since I think I have A.D.D, and I starting thinking about something else, or other craft ideas...
but anyways.
The superman blanket was for Bevan. And the other little boys blanket was for a future sibling. They were both pretty fun, but I still can't sew a straight line to save my life.

This was an altered canvas I did, because I was sitting there, and got this idea of how I wanted to do it. It was my first, so obviously not my best, but I guess it will do. I definatly need to learn more patience.

These are just some other projects I did. I have been messing around with my Cricut, and cutting vinyl letters. The sign was for my friend Mins for christmas.

Since school is starting soon, I won't have time to do any of this. Oh well, there's always summer.

P.S- I love you.

Oh MY GOSH. This is the best movie. I went and saw it yesterday with Min, Amanda, Min's mom, and her moms friend. I can't even describe how I felt as I walked away from the movie theatre. I was mesmerized, sad, defiant, and intrigued. Dont get me wrong, it is absolutely 100% a "chick flick", and I don't even care. Normally with chick flicks, girls will cry here and there. But no, not in this movie. I cried the entire time. But it was so worth it. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD.
