It may take a couple of months to get a steady schedule down. By maybe month 2 things should get better. I would try to feed my babies every 3 hours. Sometimes I had to tide them over, and other times I had to undress them and wiggle them to wake up. I think the most important thing you can do this early on is during the day to keep lights on, music or t.v. on in the background (of course not while she's napping), but it's crucial that she learns night from day.
As for sleeping in her crib. I usually only put my babies in onsies and sometimes socks, then I wrapped them tightly in a blanket (like really tightly so arms can't escape and they feel like they are being held. Dressing them in only a onsie keeps them from over heating with the blanket.)
I also LOVED this little cushion type wedge thing that I would lay them on. It is amazing. Keeps them in one spot and they think they are being held. Here's a link to a bunch of them. I found one here in town at toys r us and it changed my life!! Brycen would sleep from 8-8.
Hi Jess & Bevan-- Parker will get on her schedule soon. Do not be afraid to let her cry for a little, it strengthens her lungs (so she can yell at you when she is a teenager!) Try to set a reasonable schedule, and stick to it, just love her a lot and feed her when she is hungry--at her weight she can go 31/2 to 4 hours. Love, Gramndma DiNallo
Hi Jess: Remember when we were discussing this very thing at dinner before Bud & I left IF? Babies will do whatever they want, whenever they want until they get YOU trained!! It takes a lot of patience to get them on a good schedule. The only exception I can remember is Bessie Lucille Cates, who slept all night almost from the first night she came home.
Talia gave some of the same advice I would give. I also got the books ON BECOMING BABY WISE and SECRETS OF THE BABY WHISPERER. My children have slept a full 12 hours at night by the time they are 4 months old. The books are great! Good luck!

Hang in there. The first couple months are the hardest. Soon everything will be figured out and she will just be there to enjoy!
