My babies are being replaced by a real baby...

So doomsday, Thor and I have had several talks about the "changes" that will be taking place in the next week or so. I've explained to them in the most simplest of ways that even though there is going to be a real baby in the house, they will always be my little guy, and big guy. I've also explained that I may not have as much time for them anymore, but it doesn't mean I love them any less...
And this is the look I get when these conversations take place...

No-but seriously...Bevan and I have agreed that we are not going to be one of those families where our dogs are shoved to the sidelines once little Parker graces us with her presence. Thor has been our "baby" for 4 years, and dooms has been with us for 2 and a half years(although at times it felt like he was with us for a NEVER ENDING amount of time.) They both have had trials and tribulations to work through, but they both have matured into the best dogs in the world.
Thor came from an abused home, and didn't want anything to do with ANY male- even Bevan. When we brought him home, he would follow me everywhere I went (he still does- he's very protective)...and then when we would leave, he would poop on Bevan's things, or chew on them...depending on his mood! After several months of working with him, he finally started to trust Bevan, and now 4 years later- he's more of a daddy's boy now.

And dooms...where to begin with my little dooms? When we first got him, he was about 10 weeks old, and we had just separated him from his sister. From the get go- he was an INSANE amount of work. He would cry when I got into the shower, when I closed the bathroom door, or when I walked out of the room too quickly for him to catch up. He also chewed everything in sight, and used his peeing and pooping abilities as weapons. If we left him at home for a period of time-and apparently it was TOO long according to him- he would be as sweet as could be once we returned home- but by the next morning, there would be a pile of poop waiting for us. Sometimes by the side of the bed, sometimes in the bathroom. He is a very, very smart little dog- and at times is very conniving. But after two very long, and patient years- he is the light of our lives... really, he's turned into a great little dog.

It will be interesting to see how they interact with little Parker, especially Dooms- but they have been through so much already, and have always come out on top-
I think they will be perfect little guard dogs.
