So, I successfully made it through the first week of school unharmed! Actually, it was pretty uneventful.
On Monday, I had to work 6-2, (which really sucks by the way) and wasn't looking forward to going to my first class of the semester, Accounting. The class was supposed to start at 6 pm, and after talking to my friend Henry about Nip/Tuck and Lost, I looked up at the clock, and realized it was 6:30.
Our teacher was a no show.
So needless to say, my "first" day back to school was nice.
Out of all the classes I had this week, my favorite has to be Health Law and Bioethics. Its very interesting, except for the fact that my professor will not stop talking about herself. One part of the class is basically about all the Federal, state, local, and employer laws we will have to deal with. But the more important part of the class is Bioethics. Bioethics is basically all the hot button Healthcare issues you can think of, and how an administrator can handle those topics ethically. I tend to be very opinionated, and passionate about certain topics-so I think my classmates are in for a very long semester.
For example, one of the topics we covered today was the health care provided for prisoners. We learned about a law in California ( the most liberal, idiotic state to ever exist) that allows DEATH ROW prisoners to receive transplants. So more specifically, there was an inmate who received a HEART transplant, and then was put to death a couple weeks later..
I guess in California human hearts grown on trees, and can be discarded at will.
Anyways, my first week back was actually pretty good, and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the semester.
